Accra, Nov. 22, GNA - Angry supporters of Accra Great Olympics on Sunday vented their spleen on Mr David Fugah, a Board Member of the club who is also considered to be among one of the feuding factions in the club.
Olympics have been relegated to Division One league after failing to beat Real Sportive in a life saving encounter of the last match of the GT Premier league after the match ended one goal apiece at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The "Wonder Club" after the 14-week, managed to mass up only 15 points, which placed them at the bottom of Zone "B" of the league. Mr Fugah was met with verbal attacks from the angry fans when he came out of the VIP Lounge after the match with the fans threatening to beat him up.
The fans also accused Mr Fugah of being the cause of the woes of the club that has finally led them into what is considered as "the wilderness" of Ghana soccer.
"Now you have got what you want, if you can do better go and bring us back from relegation", the angry fans told Mr Fugah.
Mr Fugah was quickly whisked back into the VIP Lounge by some of the security men around to take refuge.
He was however kept hostage as the fans massed up at the entrance of the VIP Lounge to continue with their verbal attacks.
Olympics formed in 1954, is considered to be the third force in Ghana soccer after Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
They are on record to have produced great stars like Awuley Quaye, former captain of the Black Stars, Cecil Jones Attuquayefio, head coach of Accra hearts of Oak, John Naawu and contemporary players like Aziz Ansah, Laryea Kingston, Micheal Asante and Dan Quaye among others.
