The second round of the Ghana Premier League enters match day 3 this mid-week after its resumption some two weeks ago. After several weeks dating back to the first round, Ashantigold still occupy the top spot, while B.A United are the likeliest candidate for relegation.

The attention will be at the Accra Sports Stadium as Kumasi Asante Kotoko make a trip to face Accra Great Olympics. The Porcupine Warriors have already been beaten by Heart of Lions and New Edubaise United. The recent defeat against Edubaise got the fans fuming since it was a home match. Clearly, coach David Duncan knows a third straight defeat will attract an enormous pressure on him. But his dream to record his first win in the second round will not come cheap as they face a “stubborn” Great Olympics side, who happens to be his former club.

Elsewhere, Accra Hearts of Oak, who have managed to pick four points out of a possible six since the second round began, have a date with All Stars in Wa. A win for the Phobians could take them from the mid-table position straight into the top four.

Leaders Ashantigold have been paired with Inter Allies at the Tema Park. With a seven-point gap, the Miners will do themselves a lot of good if they complete this away fixture unscathed.

After moving out of the relegation zone following an impressive 2-1 away result against Kumasi Asante Kotoko, New Edubaise United return to the Len Clay Stadium to face Liberty Professionals.

Bottom placed B.A United take on WAFA at the Coronation Park in Sunyani, while Bechem United travel to Kpando to face Hearts of Lions.

Aduana Stars, who recently lost their second spot, will be playing against Medeama SC. Both teams are strong contenders for a top four finish.

Sekondi Hasacas and Berekum Chelsea will also be clashing at the Essipong Stadium.
