Former Youth and Sports Minister, Nii Lante Vanderpuiye is not surprised by Ghana’s failure to qualify for the CHAN 2018 tournament following a shocking 2-1 home defeat to Burkina Faso.
The tough-talking Member of Parliament says he is rather worried about the sinking state of Ghana football which he believes accounted for Ghana’s successive failure to make the tournament.
Reacting to Ghana’s shocking defeat to Burkina Faso in last Sunday’s qualifier, Vanderpuye said the embarrassment is a result of the cow-dung management approach of Ghana football.
“Let me say not a surprise to me but worried. I’m sad that we have failed to qualify. I was expecting us to qualify after drawing 2-2 away least did I expect that we will lose the return match”.
“But I’m not surprised because these are the things I’ve been talking about all these while that if we continue to develop the cow-dung management style over the management of our football, we will always reap these results”,
“It is not well with our football. It is only hypocrites who are continually saying all is well and when you talk about it, they send their cohorts around radio stations to haunt you and to insult you”,
“But the truth will always triumph over falsehood and light will always shine over darkness. We did some wrong things in the past which has resulted in this. Let sit down, correct things and build a better future tomorrow”.
Ghana fail to make it to CHAN 2018 after losing to Burkina Faso.
Burkina Faso upset Ghana 2-1 Sunday as a shock-riddled weekend of 2018 African Nations Championship qualifying continued.
Ghana, twice runners-up in the four previous editions, led twice in Burkina Faso last weekend before conceding a late goal and settling for a 2-2 first leg draw.
