Ghana defender Daniel Opare says he will be comfortable to play as a make-shift left-back at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations finals.

The 21-year-old Standard Liege player impressed in that role during the qualifiers but he could be dropped for Masawudu Alhassan who is a natural left-footer.

Opare will have two-weeks to convince head coach Goran Stevanovic during the team’s pre-tournament camping in Rustenburg, South Africa which begins on 7 January.

The former Real Madrid youth team player is up for the challenge.

“For me left-back is not really a problem because even at club level I play both right and left so it won’t be a problem for me. I can adjust to any of them,” said Opare.

He is a sure bet to make the final 23-man squad for the finals which runs from 21 January to 12 February.
