Oruma Bags Man Of The Match

Wilson Oruma was adjudged the best player as the Eagles pipped rivals Ghana 1-0 in the opening African Nations Cup Group D match played here in Port Said on Monday.

Oruma showed the form that once won him many fans in his days with the Golden Eaglets. His daring runs from the midfield often troubled the Black Stars.

Nations Cup title sponsors MTN therefore awarded him a trophy for his commendable efforts.

"I dedicate this award to God who has continued to give me the strength to fight on. My teammates have also helped me to rediscover my form," Oruma said.

Ghana skipper Stephen Appiah won the LG Fair Play award.
