South African referee for Davis cup

Accra, July 3, GNA - The International Tennis Federation, (ITF) has appointed a South African referee to officiate in the Euro-African Zone II Davis Cup play-off between Ghana's Golden Rackets and Georgia scheduled for the Centre Court of the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra beginning Friday July 15.

The South African, Iain Smith replaces regular referee and a fellow countryman Anton Rens.

Smith, who used to handle satellites circuit, is expected in the country on Sunday, July 10, five clear days before the big game that demotes the loser to zone III.
