Former Ghana international Otto Addo insists the Black Stars’ ability to progress at the group stage of the 2014 World Cup largely depends on their opening game against the US.
Addo has been appointed by the Ghana FA to scout and monitor the Germans but the former winger, who featured for Ghana at the 2006 Mundial admits everything starts from the Stars and Stripes game.
“The group for Ghana is difficult. I'm not a guy who dreams big. Much will depend on the first game against the USA. We need to make the mark,” the Hamburg Under-19 coach told dfb.
Addo could have represented Germany at international level, but chose Ghana and had 15 caps in his name with two goals.
Talking about his coaching job, he said: “I have a contract with Hamburg until 2015 and I will give everything to ensure that we create the class and remain in the A-Juniors Bundesliga.”
