Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has advised Black Stars head coach Otto Addo to be firm and assertive in decision-making to optimize the team’s performance.

Addo, recently reappointed as the substantive coach for the Black Stars, has already made a positive impact by securing back-to-back wins in the World Cup qualifiers.

Agyemang-Badu, who played for Udinese, expressed his support for Addo’s approach and decisions.

The 33-year-old midfielder was particularly pleased with the team’s recent performances against Mali and the Central African Republic, noting that these games provided a strong foundation for further development.

Addo’s decision to exclude captain Andre Ayew in those matches was a notable move that received praise from many quarters.

“He’s bringing in new good guys. There are a lot of lapses in the team. That one, we can’t run away from that. He’s well experienced,” Agyemang-Badu told Joy Sports.

“This is the second coming. He knows where he needs to beef up. We will support him. I mean, I’m a fan of him. Let me tell you that for a fact. I think he will build a good team for us.”

Agyemang-Badu emphasized the importance of Addo remaining firm in his decisions, saying, “He should be very tough like how he is as usual. Take decisions that he thinks will help him and help the team. That’s the most important thing.”

The Black Stars are gearing up for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers in September, with fans and pundits alike eagerly anticipating how Addo’s strategies will unfold.
