Black Stars coach Otto Addo has stated that the rain had a significant impact on Ghana's 4-3 win over the Central African Republic on Monday, June 10, 2024.

There was a downpour during the second half of the game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

He explained that the rain helped his team execute their game plan by moving the ball faster and therefore thanked God for opening the heavens.

"The rain? It helped us play better and move the ball faster. Thank you, God, for making it rain," he said at the post-match.

Ghana scored three goals in the second half, turning the game on its head after trailing 2-1 at halftime.

The blistering second-half performance secured Ghana back-to-back wins in the qualifying series.

Jordan Ayew, who made his 100th appearance for the Black Stars, scored a hat-trick, with Fatawu Issahaku adding another in the memorable win.

Following the win, Ghana now leads Group I with 9 points. Madagascar and Comoros are tied for second and third place, respectively, with 6 points each, while Mali and the Central African Republic are tied for fourth and fifth place, with 4 points each.
