Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, Otumfuo, Okyehene and Sam Jonah have passion for golf
Some prominent Ghanaian personalities, regardless of their status, make time to play golf and invest in the sport to support its growth in the country.
Many of these individuals are skilled golfers who do not only play occasionally but also organise tournaments, creating opportunities for others, especially young talents, to showcase their potential.
These personalities include influential traditional leaders, business executives, religious leaders, academics, and other notable personalities.

Otumfuo, Dag Heward-Mills, and Nick Danso
A unique blend of royalty, spirituality, and business have been on display as recently, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II; Bishop Dag Heward-Mills; and business magnate Nick Danso were captured showcasing their golf skills.
The tournament formed part of the Millennium Excellence Awards, held on Friday, May 9, 2025.
In a video widely circulated on social media, the three dignitaries were seen teeing off and engaging in various plays, demonstrating their golfing abilities.
Bishop Dag Heward-Mills and the Asantehene were also spotted on the course smiling and laughing together, clearly enjoying the game.
The Millennium Excellence Awards, hosted at the Manhyia Palace by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, brought together leaders from government, civil society, the arts, and the media to celebrate individuals and institutions making lasting contributions to national development.

The Asantehene was also seen playing golf with Akyem monarch Osagyego Amoatia Ofori Panin II as part of the Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament.
The two leaders met to grace the occasion with their presence and used the opportunity to play golf, as they often do, to exercise and share memorable moments.
Sir Sam Jonah
Prominent businessman Sam Jonah is an avid and skilled golfer who frequently plays and is regarded as one of the best.
As a pioneering Ghanaian golfer at the formerly segregated Obuasi club, he has won multiple tournaments and even has a dedicated golf tournament named after him, the '4th Sam Jonah Golf Tourney.'
Other notable personalities who are also into golfing include Mike Aggrey, President of the Ghana Golf Association, and renowned artist Ibrahim Mahama.
