Owner and life patron of Asante Kotoko, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has directed the new board of the Porcupines not to recruit any new player for at least one season.
This was made known by the Chief of Staff of Manhyia Palace, Kofi Badu during the inaugural ceremony of the Board of Directors.
The directive, according to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is to enable the club to use the current crop of players who the Asantehene believes have to push the club to the top.
"Otumfuo has directed that Kotoko shall not recruit any new player into the current team," Badu said at the board's inauguration at Manhyia Palace.
"Asante Kotoko club should not recruit any new player for at least one season," he added.
Asante Kotoko already have over 35 players in its fold under Coach Maxwell Konadu
