Kumasi,(Greater Accra) 5 Nov. The Asantehene, Otumfuo poku Ware the second, Life Patron of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club has in consultation with the patrons of the club, removed Mr George Adusei Poku (GEORGIDO) rom office as chief executive. Consequently, the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the club has also been dissolved and GEORGIDO has been asked to hand over the management of the club to the Board of Directors by November 22, 1997. These were contained in a statement issued in Kumasi today as part of measures to restore peace in the club. The statement said Mr Kwaku Aboagye Agyei, (MAXIBILION) has also been removed as the chairman of the Board of Directors and the board directed to appoint a new chairman from among themselves. It asked the board to advertise the vacant post of chief executive and invite applications from suitably qualified and interested persons in accordance with the club's constitution. The statement said the board has been reconstituted and the number increased from nine to 12. It said pending the appointment of a new chief executive, the board and Council of Patrons will recommend a suitable person to the Asantehene for a temporary appointment as chief executive. The statement said Mr Adusei Poku now joins the Council of Patrons while Mr Aboagye Agyei remains a member of the board. It hoped that these measures will restore peace in the club and that all its organs, supporters and well-wishers will cooperate to restore the image of their beloved club.
