The Board Chairman of Aduana Stars, Berima Yeboah Kodie II, has targeted CaF Champions league trophy when they participate in the prestigious competition next year.
Berima Yeboah Kodie II who is also ADUANA HENE said management would seek to revamp the team ahead of a tight schedule next season when they will compete in the Premier League, MTN FA Cup, as well as the CAF Champions League.
Berima Yeboah Kodie II made this statement during a grand durbar at Dormaa ahead of coronation match yesterday revealed that their target is to win the CAF Champions league and even better the records of Hearts of oak and Kotoko in Africa.
He said the club was ready to participate in their second Champions League as Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang- Badu II, was committed to financing their bid to make an impact at the continental stage.
"We are looking forward to having a good preparation at the beginning of the new season for the CAF Champions League and win the cup convincingly.
‘’Our target is to get to the group stage first and then proceed to for the ultimate crown’’, he stressed.
"There is a whole lot that we need to do ahead of our next campaign just like improving our team and we will definitely look at that.
As for financing, our bankroller is ready and committed to seeing us have a successful participation," the Board Chairman indicated that Aduana got the nod to represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League next season after winning the just-ended 2016/2017 Premier League title’’, Aduanahene said’.
Meanwhile, Premier League champions Aduana Stars have been decorated with their Premier League winners medals at a colourful ceremony in Dormaa-Ahenkro.
Aduana defeated Brong Ahafo Regional rivals Berekum Chelsea in a special coronation match at the Nana Agyemang Badu 11 Park in Dormaa on Sunday.
GFA Vice President George Afriyie led officials, including PLB Chairman Ashford Tettey-Oku to present the winners' medals and the glittering premier league trophy to players and officials of the champions respectively. Aduana was also presented with a cheque for $30,000 US Dollars, being prize money for winning the 2016/2017 Ghana Premier.
The atmosphere inside the stadium was joyous throughout the day, with traditional rulers in the Dormaa Traditional Area present, including the Omanhene, Nana Agyemang Badu 11.
The Paramount chief of the Dormaa tradition area (Nana Agyemang Badu) also gave the Club GHC100, 000 to be shared among themselves.
Players, technical team members and management members of Aduana Stars have each received certificates for a plot of land following the Club’s successful Premier League campaign.
