Kumasi Asante Kotoko is set to play host to Liberty Professionals on Sunday in a must win.
Kotoko would go into the game with their interim coach Michael Osei who took over from the embattled David Duncan after some poor results in the ongoing Ghana Premier League that has seen the club at the bottom of the table in an unprecedented manner.
The management has promised the teaming fans of bringing back the glory of the club and in an interview with GNA Sports, the Communications Manager of Kotoko, Mr. Kwaku Ahenkorah stated that “this match is a must win for Kotoko, the boys are well prepared for this game and am sure come Sunday, the three points would be ours and for our cherished fans to believe in us again,” he noted.
He said “Ashgold is different from Kotoko and we all have different ways of preparing for matches, we have seen encouraging signs in the week, we have our former players as head coach and assistant to handle the team, they know what the club stands for and can feel the passion for the club, so there will be no difficulties come Sunday.”
Mr. Ahenkorah has also stated that the life patron of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, never said the club would get a new bus if they beat Liberty Professionals on Sunday.
According to Mr Ahenkorha, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II said, the club must start winning games for him to get them a new bus and they must start with Liberty Professionals.
Coach Osei would be in the dugout for his first game in charge of the club, with his assistance from Godwin Ablodey.
