Great Olympics left-back Owusu Sefa is brimming with confidence ahead of Accra derby between his club and Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
After spending four successful seasons at Hearts, the 23-year-old joined cross-town rivals Olympics in 2014.
Sefa is upbeat that his newly-promoted side would snatch the derby despite the Phobians’ current sparkling form in the Caf Confederations Cup.
“We are very determined ahead of the game with Hearts of Oak on Sunday. The mental toughness is there. We’re feeling no pressure of any kind,” Sefa told Goal.
“It’d be a normal game. I played for Hearts and I have also played against them. We are looking forward for a win.
“We have a good coach and if I get the chance to play, I’ll show Hearts of Oak that I’m still the Owusu Sefa they once knew,” he said.
Olympics started the season poorly and were wallowing at the bottom of the league but the arrival of Richard Kingson, Dan Quaye and Godwin Attram has reinvigorated the outfit.
“At the beginning of the season it was very tough for us, but the inclusion of senior players namely Richard Kingson, Godwin Attram and Dan Quaye has really helped because things are improving. We have moved from the bottom to the 13th position and we hope to continue the upward movement,” he said.
Owusu Sefa was arguably the best left back in the Ghana domestic league when he was at Accra Hearts of Oak.
