Once again, we’re witnessing another exciting edition of the transfer window, where Premier League clubs are all breaking the bank to make signings. However, with the 2015-16 transfer windows yet to officially close, let us look back at the 3 most expensive deals of all time in the Ghana Premier League.

Here are the three all-time most expensive transfers in the history of Ghana Premier League.

1. Isaac Twum- GH?760,000 Hearts of Lions to Inter Allies

Isaac Twum’s transfer to Inter Allies has made him the most expensive player in the Ghana Premier League history. The former U-17 attacker who had trials at Belgium giants Anderlecht before joining the Tema-based club enjoyed a sensational campaign last season with Kpandu Hearts of Lions but unfortunately, could not save them from being relegated. The reported $200,000 transfer deal makes him the most expensive player of all time in the local topflight.

2. Alex Asamoah- GH?200,000 Ashanti Gold to Asante Kotoko

Kumasi Asante Kotoko looked to have pulled off a stunning signing when they broke the Ghana Premier League transfer record they had set few seasons back to bring AshantiGold SC’s Alex Asamoah in the 2008/2009 season to the regional capital. His transfer puts him behind Isaac Twum and ahead of Charles Taylor with over GH?20,000. He later proved his worth in the fold of the Porcupine Warriors by winning the Ghana Premier League Goal king award in 2009 with 17 goals.

3. Charles Taylor- GH?180,000 Accra Hearts of Oak to Asante Kotoko

Taylor’s move from Accra Hearts of Oak to Kumasi Asante Kotoko is one of the controversial transfer’s in Ghanaian local football over the past one and half decades. The playmaker who is arguably the best footballer the Ghana Premiership have seen over the past two decades helped the Porcupine Warriors to lift the League title in 2003.

He was also instrumental as the Fabulous club reached the finals of the maiden edition of the CAF Confederations Cup during the 2004/2005 season where they lost to his former side Accra Hearts of Oak on penalties.
