The Black Stars captaincy was the major talking point as Asamoah Gyan appeared on the Joy Super Morning Show on Friday.

Addressing the issue about the captaincy, Gyan conceded that he was hurt by the decision to strip him of the captaincy and stated that ‘"I felt betrayed and felt disappointed. I don't have any problem with him (coach).I won't lie to you, I felt extremely hurt”.

Despite his denial of the much-reported rancor between him and current skipper Andre Ayew, the former Al Ain striker aimed a dig at Ayew, describing his decision to accept the role as ‘unwise’.

Gyan also suggested that some unseen hands within the football and government circles manipulated Kwesi Appiah to take the controversial decision.

The close to two hours interview traversed Gyan’s club and Black Stars future, his philanthropic and business works as well as his relationship with Kwesi Appiah.

Gyan once again failed to rule out retirement from the Black Stars, expressing his readiness to play in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers which begin in November.
