Thomas Partey was born June 13, 1993 in Odumase Krobo in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Partey plies his trade in the Spanish La Liga with Atletico Madrid where he plays as a defensive midfielder.
The Atletico Madrid youngster started playing with lower division side, Odemetah FC before signing for Athletico Madrid FC in 2011 for an undisclosed fee, where he quickly joined the reserve side of the team.
He was loaned out in 2013 to newly promoted side RCD Marlloca where he made 37 appearances and helped them avoid been relegated from the Segunda division.
In 2014 he had another loan spell with newly promoted side UD Almeria in the Spanish league where his exploit with the team could not go unnoticed by the manager of his parent club Diego Simeone.
He gained a call up back to the senior team of Athletico Madrid by Coach Diego Simeone in 2015/2016 season. He made his first team appearance for season and the senior team against Levante FC in the copa del roy where he scored the only goal of the game.
He gained his first league start of the season against Eibar FC where he was deployed on the right hand side of midfield, he lasted for an hour of the game when he was replaced by Oliver Torres in a game Athletico Madrid won by 3 -1 victory in the Saturday clash at Vicente Calderon.
Even though Thomas Partey is yet to gain a senoir call up, his recent performance has brightened his chance of gaining a call up to the Ghana Black Stars with rubber, ours emerging that head Coach of the senior national team, Avram Grant is considering invitation him believing his versatility in the middle of the park can help his course of securing qualification to the AFCON in 2017 and possibly world cup 2018 in Russia.
