Asante Kotoko coach Samuel Paa Kwasi Fabin is counting on the return of striker Sadick Adams to lift their performance in the Ghana Premier League.

It has been a topsy-turvy run for the Porcupine Warriors in the topflight, having won two, drawn one and lost two of five games played thus far.

A 2-0 defeat to leaders Ashanti Gold on Sunday is their latest setback.

"We are expecting one or two players to come and help our course," Fabin said, as reported by myjoyonline.

"Sadick Adams has started training and also we are waiting for Frederick Boateng's ITC, so I think we'll be stronger when these players join the team in our subsequent matches, but like I said, if you fail to execute your chances, you'll be punished.

“We shot ourselves in the foot [against Ashgold] because we had two clear chances to break the deadlock but failed, which was bad on our part.

"In association football, if you fail to take your chances, you will definitely be punished, and that's exactly what we suffered."

Injured Adams played a crucial role in helping Kotoko finish fifth in the league last season as well as winning the FA Cup.

He is mostly remembered for his hat-trick in the cup final against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak.

The former Atletico Madrid youth frontman, who represented Ghana at the 2007 Fifa Under-17 World Cup, joined Kotoko in May last year.
