John Paintsil is receptive to the possibility of making a return to the Ghana team after missing out of two important fixtures under Kwesi Appiah.

The defender who mutually terminated his contract with English side, Leicester City was not included in the Black Stars team for their two matches against Lesotho and Zambia in the qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup last month.

Whilst not closing off to the notion of rejoining the squad, Paintsil who has been a member of the national squad for a decade now says, the evolving Ghana team still needs to blend youth with experience.

At 31, Paintsil has an open mind about football as he makes a case for the right blend.

“Ghana has a bright future and we have players who can easily fit into this side," Paintsil, who made his Ghana debut in 2002 told Joy Sports.

"Older players should be ready to play when called. They have experience to offer and can mix with the inexperienced players. Experienced players are experts in delay tactics, confusing referees and winning free-kicks."

Despite angling for a return to the Black Stars, Paintsil is well aware that regular playing time at club level is needed to back his case as he goes in search for club after ending his time at Leicester.

"For me, the focus is on my club career though I am always available to play for the [Black] Stars,” he said.
