The personal assistant to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Jamaludeen A. Abdullah, has said that the Accra Sports Stadium is in the best condition following recent rehabilitation works.
According to him, it was not only the pitch that was worked on to be in good state but also the washrooms in the facility, which have been fixed with new equipment to give them a better shape.
Abdullah indicated that the washrooms are well kept to the extent that people could sleep there like in a normal bedroom and do other things as well.
“With the current state of the Accra Sports Stadium washrooms, you can bring your pillow and sleep there,” he said, as shared by GhOne TV on X.
The personal assistant to the Minister of youth and Sports further disclosed that his outfit is in talks with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to get the Cape Coast and Baba Yara Stadiums in good shape by the close of 2024.
“We sat with the NSA and the GFA to find ways of ensuring that Cape Coast and Baba Yara Stadiums are all approved before the end of the year [2024],” he added.
The renovated Accra Sports Stadium will host the Black Stars versus Sudan match on October 10, 2024.
A section of the public has applauded the Ministry of Youth and Sports for undertaking the renovation works, while others urged them to maintain the facility properly after the Black Stars match.
