European football expert, Reuben Obodai brings you a comprehensive update on how Ghanaian players performed in abroad this weekend.

There were so many excellent performances from Ghanaian players across the globe as some of the leagues are starting to take shape.

Frank Acheampong once again stood tall for Tianjin Teda as he atoned for his penalty miss by hitting a goal to help them claim maximum points at Hebei.

Players such as Ayew and Ekuban look to be heading for the exits from Swansea City and Leeds United respectively as both missed the Match Day squads in the Championship opener.

John Boye was a real leader at the back for Metz FC on Friday as they thump Orleans at home.

Lastly, Kudus Mohammed had a debut to forget in the Danish league for FC Nordsjaelland as they were beaten by Brondby. However, there were plenty of positives to take from that game as Clinton Antwi and Sadiq Ibrahim gave good accounts of themselves.

ENGLAND

Jordan Ayew was not included in Swansea City's squad that recorded a 2-1 win at Sheffield United. The Ghana forward is reported to be inching closer to a move to Crystal Palace.

Andy Yiadom lasted full period of action for Reading FC as they sthhuffered a 2-1 defeat to Derby County at the Madejskyi Stadium.

Caleb Ekuban was left out of Leeds United squad that commenced their season with a 3-1 win over Stoke City.

In League One, Bernard Mensah made a cameo appearance for Bristol Rovers in their in their 2-1 loss at Peterborough.

Tarique Fosu was not added to Charlton Athletic squad that lost 2-1 against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Kwesi Appiah picked a booking for AFC Wimbledon in their 1-0 victory over Fleetwood Town.

In League Two, Hiram Boateng lasted 85 minutes for Exeter City in their 3-1 win over Carlisle.

Kobby Arthur popped up with a brace for Macclesfield but his efforts were in vain as they lost 3-2 to Swindon Town.

Elsewhere in the lower leagues, Kwame Thomas suffered an injury for Solihull in their 2-1 win at Eastleigh.

Kevin Lokko and Nortei Nortey lasted 90 minutes for Dover Athletic in their 1-0 home loss to Wrexham.

Harold Odametey played full period of action for Maidenhead in their 4-1 home defeat to Gateshead. Nana Owusu lasted 65 minutes for the losers.

Nana Ofori Twumasi enjoyed full throttle for Maidstone United in their 1-1 draw with Hartlepool. Darius Osei was left out of Maidstone squad.

ITALY

Bright Gyamfi warmed the bench for Benevento Calcio in their 3-1 win over Imolese in the Coppa Italia.

Bismarck Ngissah scored for Viterbese as they thumped Ascoli 4-0 at away. Bright Addae was taken off at half time for the losers.

Moses Odjer scored a screamer for Salernitana in their 6-1 win over Rezzato in the Coppa Italia.

FRANCE

John Boye was a stalwart for Metz FC as they battered Orleans 5-1 at home.

Goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi warmed the bench for Sochaux as they were stunned 1-0 at home to Valenciennes. Emmanuel Ntim was an unused substitute for the victors.

Ebenezer Assifuah registered an assist for Le Havre in their 1-1 draw with Grenoble.

GERMANY

David Atanga provided an assist for Greuther Fuerth in their 3-1 win over Sandhausen.

Bernard Tekpetey made a cameo appearance for SC Paderborn 07 as they were pipped 1-0 at Darmstadt. Christopher Antwi-Adjei was not added to the losers match day squad.

Kingsley Schindler captained Holstein Kiel to a 3-0 win over SV Hamburg at away. Gideon Jung missed the game for the losers through injury.

DENMARK

Clinton Antwi played full throttle for FC Nordjaelland in their 2-0 loss at Brondby. Kudus Mohammed was taken off at halt time on his debut for the Wild Tigers likewise Sadiq Ibrahim. Godsway Donyoh missed the game for the losers through injury. Kelvin Mensah missed the match for Brondby through injury.
