Philadelphia Union won't trade crocked Ghana winger David Accam to FC Cincinnati ahead of the Expansion Draft today (Tuesday).
Union have kept faith with the Ghanaian, whose debut season was ravaged by an injury.
The believe he will return to the pitch and justify his prize tag after joining from Chicago Fire last year.
GHANAsoccernet.com reported last week that the Major Soccer League new boys were seeking to sign the 28-year-old in Tuesday Expansion Draft.
But Union have confirmed a list of players who have been protected from the draft including the Black Star.
Others including Alejandro Bedoya, Andre Blake, Cory Burke, Jack Elliott, Raymon Gaddis, Ilsinho, Olivier Mbaizo, Fafa Picault, Keegan Rosenberry, and CJ Sapong will remain with the club next season.
Accam joined Union in 2017 after scoring 14 goals and provided 8 assists but managed just two goals and no assists in 28 games for the new side this year.
