...Over 70 Kotoko Supporters Collapse
... Fufu at standstill ... Kenkey is King

Accra Hearts of Oak won the 2004 Confederation Cup final in a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over Asante Kotoko in Kumasi on Sunday.

The Accra side won 8-7 on penalties, after the second leg had ended 1-1 to level the tie at 2-2 on aggregate.

Michael Donkor was the Hearts hero as he converted the match-winning spotkick.

Charles Taylor had given Kotoko the lead eight minutes into the second half, before Lawrence Adjeh Tetteh found a much-needed equaliser for Hearts in the 81st minute.

The all-Ghanaian final had been postponed from December since the two-legged tie would have clashed with last month's presidential elections in the West African nation

Hearts line-up: Sannie Mohammed, Dan Quaye, Amankwah Mireku, Acquah Harrison, Michael Donkor, Francis Bossman, Adjah Tetteh, Lawrence Adjei, Louis Agyemang, Prince Tagoe, Dong Bortey/Ablade Morgan.
Coach: Cecil Jones Attuquayefio

Kotoko line-up: George Owu, Michael Ofuso Amoah, Godfred Yeboah, Joe Hendricks, Issa Ahmed, Stephen Oduro, Yusif Chibsah, Michael Asante, Michael Osei, Nana Arhin Duah/Frank Osei, Charles Taylor (Edmund Owusu Ansah).
Coach: Hans Dieter-Schmidt
