Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Pius Enam Hadzide says government is looking at the possibility of offering financial assistance to Ghana's two representatives in Africa, Aduana Stars and Asante Kotoko.

Aduana Stars commenced their CAF Champions League campaign on a losing note following their 1-0 defeat to Libyan side Al Tahaddy in the first leg of the preliminary round last Sunday.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko, who are competing in CAF's second-tier club competition, Confederations Cup, began their campaign successfully by inflicting a 1-0 defeat on Congolese outfit CARA Club at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

And the Deputy sports minister, who was in attendance at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium last Sunday to cheer the Porcupine Warriors, has indicated that his outfit are committed to helping the two sides achieve their ambition in their respective competitions.

"The government of Ghana is very much behind the two clubs representing Ghana in Africa [Aduana and Kotoko] that's the reason I was in Kumasi to watch the match," Hon. Hadzide declared on Oyerepa FM.

"We admit every success they achieve is for Mother Ghana so as a government we are behind them but financially, we are yet to meet on that and should the need arise for us to follow them for their trips subsequently, we will."
