Despite late pressure from the Ugandans, the Black Stars of Ghana held on to take the three points and lead Group D of the 2017 African Cup of Nations. Razak Braimah 5 - A clean sheet but again he looked shakey doing the basics.
Harrison Afful 5 - Looks short of his normal buccaneering confidence.Made too many errors and the team missed his adventure.
John Boye 7 - Used his physicality well and kept Kizito very quiet. Will be confident of keeping his place in the team
Daniel Amartey 8 - One strong chase and tackle to retrieve the ball from Miya exemplified a confident outing. Was brave and read the game well.
Baba Rahman 4 - The Schalke defender was enjoying an indifferent night before injury forced his change
Mubarak Wakaso 4 - Lost his composure early and never recovered as he engaged in several debates over fouls.Failed to create much.
Thomas Partey 8 - Sat deep and broke up play intelligently.Joined the attack when he could and offers more than the player he replaced in the starting lineup.
Andre Ayew 6 - A player with a sense of occasion, he started out on the left and drifted into good positions.Should have scored when out in on goal by Jordan but made up with a calm head to give Ghana the lead from the penalty spot. Also tired early.
Christian Atsu 7 - Joseph Ochaya will not want to see the winger for a while after he was twisted and turned several times on the right side.Created chances aplenty but struggled in the second half.
Jordan Ayew 4 -A performance full of hard running but erratic decision making.
Asamoah Gyan 6 - His persistence won Ghana the penalty after Uganda defender Isinde dabbled too long on the ball.Saw two headers go wide and was subbed to loud boos although he had visibly tired
Subs Frank Acheampong 5- An ineffectual performance after replacing Rahman.
Badu 4- Replaced Gyan to loud boos and did very little to appease the upset fans.Offered neither authority or creativity.
