A delegation from the Sports management Unit of the Ghana Police Service paid a courtesy call on the Ghana Football Association, on Friday June 19, 2020.

The Police team led by Director General Welfare, COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, Director of Sports, Daniel Darko Boateng and Chairperson, ACP Lydia Donkor were received by a GFA cortège led by President Kurt E.S. Okraku.

The visit comes on the heels of a visit made by the GFA boss and his team to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), James Oppong-Boanuh in March 2020.

In a recent letter to the GFA, the Ghana Police Administration said it was considering the idea of setting up a special unit in the Police Service to handle sports-related issues upon the request of the GFA President Kurt Okraku.

It is believed today’s engagement touched on this plus other issues that have to do with the current state of affairs as regards Ghana Football and the way forward amidst COVID-19.

The Ghana Football season has been suspended due to the CoronaVirus pandemic.

The Ghana FA is set to decided on the fate of the season by June 30.
