Policemen rescue referees at Accra Sports Stadium

Referee Ernest Baafi and his assistants Eric O. Mensah and Freeman Anwulo had to be whisked away from the Accra Sports Stadium by policemen after Hearts of Oak’s 3-1 home defeat to Wa All Stars.

The Kumasi-based referee was accused by the home fans of robbing the Phobians and aiding All Stars to end their unbeaten run this season.

Baafi is alleged to have allowed an offside goal from All Stars to stand for the opening gal and denied Hearts a clear penalty which could have resulted in the equalizer.
