Accra Great Olympics coach, Godwin Attram has revealed that politics has played a huge part in the club’s inconsistency to stay in the premier league.
The club suffered a relegation in the 2014/15 premier league campaign failing to uplift their performance. The former Black Stars midfielder urged the supporters of the club to stick together if they want to gain promotion back into the premier league.
Speaking on Sports Nite on Asempa FM, he said, “Politics has been the major problem of Accra Great Olympics.”
“The supporters of the club have to realize that they are supporting Accra Great Olympics and not the individuals at the club and that has been the major problem of the club. It not because am Godwin Attram so the supporters should come and supports me, it shouldn’t be that but we should rather supports the club.”
“The club have brought up great players and they have all left the club and the club is still in existence and I am one of the players that played for Olympics and went outside the country and now and back to the club and it applies to all the personalities that will come to the club. The chairman, president and the vice will go out of the club but the club will still there, so it the club that we need to support and not the individuals.”
He continued, “If you go to the developed countries the supporters supports the club and not the individual personalities of the club but I strongly believe that when we all come together as a team and stand firmly we can gain promotion back into the league because solidarity is the key to succeed.”
“I know that the supporters love the club and so as the management so I am encouraging them to come together and support the club because with the kind of thought I have for Olympics, if they come together as one they will see the real Olympics again.” He added.
