Ghana legend Mohammed Polo has launched a stinging attack on the quality of football and says the performance of the local Black Stars at the Chan is indicative of rot in the game.
The former Hearts of Oak, Great Olympics and national star says the tournament in Sudan is throwing light on the gradual decline in the fortunes of Ghana and suggested it also makes a negative statement about Ghana football.
Ghana is presently the top ranked side in Africa but Polo says ghat hides the true picture.
“What is currently happening to the team in Sudan are signs of the gradual rot in Ghana football,” Polo said.“People look at our current ranking in Africa (1st) and the World (15th) and think all is well with Ghana football but a critical look will tell you otherwise.”
Ghana has lost her first two games at the tournament and must now hope they win their final group game against Niger while praying for a South Africa win to avoid a first round exit.
