Former Black Stars player, Laryea Kingston, says poor negotiating skills on the part of Ghanaian agents affects the transfer of local players, as they unable to secure lucrative deals abroad.

Many players on the local scene are unable to plea their trade outside the country due to agent failing to capitalise on the massive abundant talent on the local scene.

Speaking on the football legends night show, the former Hearts of Oak star lamented on poor negotiation skills of Ghanaian agents as they unable to rob shoulders with international football agents which hinder the progress of our local players on the world stage.

“Many people who claim they are agents here, don’t know how the business goes in the international transfer market. The agent are unable to properly value the players on the international stage accompanied with poor negotiation skills which I think is affecting the transfer of our players on the local scene,” Kingston said.

Laryea also hinted that being attached to national team at both senior and youth level helps the player move abroad easily.

“When European clubs see you’re attached to national team that alone remains a plus but playing in the local league is very difficult unless you have a foreign coach who believes in you, as he will tell European clubs about your talents,” he ended.
