Accra, March 5, GNA - Gold Fields Ghana Limited, headline sponsors of the senior national team, Black Stars on Monday presented prizes to the winners of its "Predict and Win" competition organized during the Ghana 2008 Africa Cup of Nations.
The competition, a joint initiative of the mining outfit and www.ghanaweb.com, a popular website in Ghana provided a platform for football fans to predict the results of matches during the tournament.
Michael Abotsi, a Physical Education Instructor of the Ghana Navy, the first winner received 500 dollars; whilst Samuel Asamoah and Isaac Debrah, first runner-up and second runner-up went home with 300 dollars and 100 dollars respectively.
The winners were determined on a point scoring system depending on the closeness of the predicted result to the actual outcome of the match.
