At the Dansoman Carl Reindorf Park, Liberty Professionals maintained their unbeaten home streak this season with a 2-0 victory over a well-determined Tema Youth side during their week five clash of the 2007/08 Onetouch Premier League on Sunday.

A goal each in each half through Samuel Ayew Yeboah and Kojo Asamoah ensured the maximum points for the Dansoman lads at the expense of their opponents who played a greater part of the game with ten men. Tema Youth seemed to be on course for their fist away victory by dominating play till the half hour mark when left full back Richard Annan was shown the red card for an off the ball incident on Liberty's lanky midfielder Ibrahim Rabiu.

Prior to that, the attacking trio of the visitors made up of Ekow Benson, Emmanuel Nuhey and Wilson Andoh had given the Liberty rear some torrid times.

The exit of the hard working Annan created a loophole in the defence of Tema Youth who were forced to allow Liberty to do most of the attacking.

In the 35th minute, Rabiu came close to breaking the deadlock but his long drive from about 25 metres was flicked to corner by the agile Tema Youth goalkeeper Ernest Sowah of Black Meteors fame. Six minutes later, Tema Youth responded but Benson's thunderbolt gazed the goalpost with the Liberty goalie, Patrick Antwi completely beaten.

The visitors suffered yet another blow when goalkeeper Sowah was carried off after over-stretching to save a sticky situation, which saw substitute goal tender, Joseph Mensah replacing him. Less than sixty seconds into the second half, Liberty was awarded a penalty after burly striker Asamoah was adjudged to have been fouled by Tema Youth's keeper Mensah in the penalty area. Ayew expertly converted the resultant spot kick to put his side in the lead after the 46th minute.

Asamoah was on hand to double the lead in the 74th minute with a feeble header which surprisingly beat keeper Mensah. The visitors came close on a couple of occasions but fell short of getting any consolation for their spirited performance.
