Accra, Jan 5, GNA - Accra Great Olympics recorded their first win in the premiership after beating Swedru All Blacks 2-0 in a ninth week premier league match played at the El Wak Stadium on Sunday. Olympic have thus ended eight weeks of draught in the premiership. Paa Joe Kumah set Olympics on the victory path after firing a cracker past goalkeeper Isaac Akrong in the first minute of the game. Though the goal unsettled the visitors, Olympics failed to capitalise on this and struggled through the half to gain control of proceedings. Rather, it was All Blacks who put their acts together but made series of attempts at goal to keep the score line in favour of Olympics till the end of the half.

Olympics continued with their struggle for dominance in the second but failed, as All Blacks subjected them to intense pressure in a bid to cancel the lead, which never came.

This was as a result of poor shooting up front by the attacking line, spearheaded by Osei Bonsu and Obed Owusu.

Olympics however did the most important thing in the later stages of the game when substitute Mike Quaye capitalised on a defensive blunder on the part of All Blacks to fire into the roof of the net for the second goal in the 82nd minute.

This secured the much needed victory for the home team as well the three maximum points.
