Accra, Sept. 14, GNA - The Premier League Board (PLB) has set Sunday, October 9 as the resumption date for the 2011/2012 Premier League at all the eight centers.
According to the fixtures released by the PLB, all sixteen teams will swing into action even though the day conflicts with an international assignment for the Black Stars.
The Black Stars are billed to play Sudan in a dicey African Cup of Nations qualifier in a fixture Ghana must gain at least a drew to keep their hold on Group I and seal qualification to the 2012 continental gathering.
Per the fixtures gathered by GNA Sports on Wednesday, defending League champions,Berekum Chelsea will open their campaign against Tudu Mighty Jets in a game billed for the Accra Sports Stadium.
The ever anticipated grueling clash between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been fixed for week seven where the Phobians will host the Porcupine Warriors at the national Stadium in Accra.
Kotoko will, however, yearn to begin their campaign brightly before the November 20 duel with their perennial rivals when they travel to Tema as guest of returnees, Tema Youth on match day one.
Hearts will also be on the road as guest of Berekum Arsenals whose home ban has ensured they use the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast as their abode.
Meanwhile, despite the relegation of Sekondi Eleven Wise and Sekondi Hasaacas, elite football will still be on parade for the Western Region with Medeama and Wassaman United both opting to honour their home games at the Essipong Stadium, Sekondi.
Mighty Jets have returned to the Accra Stadium after their short spell in Akosombo to join Hearts as users of the national arena.
Unlike the previous season where clubs changed venues at will, this season will see no such practice with the PLB already warning that switching of venues in the middle of the season will be disallowed.
