President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo will grace the second leg of the Ghana @ 60 President Cup match between sworn-rivals Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday December 24, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi.

President Akufo-Addo who has never hidden his affection for the Porcupine Warriors would wish his darling club, Asante Kotoko, overturn their 3-1 defeat to Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg.

This is the second time the two rival clubs will lock horns for Cup honors in 2017. Kotoko made the most of the 2017 MTN FA Cup final, mauling the Phobians 3-0 courtesy a hat trick from striker Sadick Adams in Tamale.

The President Cup match is part of the celebrations of Ghana @ 60.

Speaking during the press conference held in Kumasi, renowned Sports Journalist, Dan Kwaku Yeboah, who is a member of the organizing committee confirmed exclusively to Ghanaweb.com that the winner would annex a magnificent trophy plus GHC 50,000 cedis.

Joshua Mensah, Regional Director of the National Sports Authority also stated they were almost through with getting the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in good shape for the match. Robert Sarfo Mensah, NSA Director also advised referees to give both teams and spectators a fair and entertaining game.

Asante Kotoko coach, Steven Polack said he believes his team would overturn the two goal margin to win the bragging rights, but Communications Director of Hearts of Oak Kwame Opare Addo claimed that the Phobians won't let go of a second trophy to Kotoko.
