Preview: All to play for as Ghana Premier League hits mid-season

There are many reasons why interests are high in the Ghana Premier League's weekend round of games.

Not only will matchday 15 signal the midway journey of the topflight, but also usher in a brand new round - and indeed the most dramatic part - of the championship.

While there's just so much to rue for the likes of Asante Kotoko, clubs like Wafa will undoubtedly celebrate a 'very successful' first round regardless of their matchday result.

Fourth-placed Berekum Chelsea could benefit from any possible setback on the part of the Phobians, and have, thus, set their sights on full points in their home game against struggling Great Olympics.

At the Nduom Stadium, Ebusua Dwarfs, sixth on the log, play as guests to new boys Elmina Sharks, who have won only three games thus far.

Referee William Agbovi will be the central man when cup holders Wa All Stars face 2014-15 champions Ashanti Gold away at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

In perhaps the most remarkable thing of the season, the most successful team in the history of the Premier League Asante Kotoko are without a win in their last nine matches in all competitions, seven of which are in the topflight. The Porcupine Warriors, however, hope to begin a revival Sunday with a win in their home clash with newly-promoted Tema Youth.
