National Women's League Board and Black Queens Management Committee Chairperson, Madam Leanier Addy has entreated parents of Black Princesses captain, Priscilla Adubea, to allow their ward undergo surgery on her damaged knee.

Adubea, who is the leading marksman of the Black Princesses, suffered a knee ligament injury during a league game between Ampem Darkoa and Hasaacas Ladies a season ago.

The 18-year-old appeared to racing against time as the Princesses prepare ahead of the 2018 FIFA U-20 World Cup in France.

“We know she has injury and doctors recommended surgery but she has not made herself available because, before we went to play Japan in a friendly game, the doctors recommended for surgery but she said her father has called her home but we insisted on the surgery so that she can come back and play. So if she had done it by then, she would have recovered," he revealed on Happy FM.

"I am pleading with parents to allow their children accept surgeries when the need be because, the Football Association have sponsored most players to undergo successful surgeries and have not affected their career.”

"Government agency and the FA have supported most players to undergo successful surgery and some have come back stronger, prime examples are Leticia Zikpi and Florence Okoe and one other player who was then with the under-17 side. The FA took that responsibility and took them to South Africa, and now she's back playing for the Black Queens again hence I feel she should accept the request and come back and continue her playing career.

Meanwhile, she debunked reports that Adubea has been through too much frustrations anytime she avails herself for the surgery.

“She is not supposed to report at the ministry, there is a medical team that have gone through her case and they will recommend when everything have to begin. The Ministry and the FA are ready to take care of everything as soon as a recommendation is sent from the doctor," she added.

The 2018 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, which will come off in France, is slated to kick-start from August 5- August 24.
