Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum
Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has called on players in the Ghana Premier League to work harder to earn a call-up to the Black Stars.
Only one player from the Ghana Premier League was selected for Otto Addo's team for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.
In response to the squad announcement, Coach Prosper Narteh encouraged players to intensify their efforts, asserting that they possess the same quality as the players in the Black Stars.
"We have quality in the league; individual players are very good. However, it all depends on the coach who is making the call-ups," he stated.
He further emphasised, "As coaches, we need to work harder, and as players, they also need to work harder so that, moving forward, more players will be called up to join the Black Stars."
Dr. Narteh Ogum made this statement following Kotoko's defeat to Great Olympics in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League Matchday 32 encounter.
