Provide age-cheating evidence – Jabir tells Le Roy

The Black Meteors coach wants Congo coach Claude Le Roy to submit proofs that Ghana fielded over-age players in Saturday’s Olympic Games qualifier

Ghana U-23 coach Malik Jabir has challenged Congo coach Claude Le Roy to prove his allegations against Ghana over the use of over-age players in the Olympic Games qualifier or keep mute.

After their 1-0 defeat to the Black Meteors in the 2016 Olympic Games qualifier on Saturday, the Frenchman alleged that he had coached some of the Ghanaians in the current U-23 team that they did not meet the competition's requirement of being under 23 years.

However, Jabir wants the former Ghana manager to back his allegation with evidence. Le Roy took charge of the Black Stars between 2006 and 2008.

“I don’t think he (Claude Le Roy) has any basis. The only thing he can dwell on is when he could remember calling Ebo Andoh to the local Black Stars,” Jabir told Joy FM.

“He felt from then until now Andoh’s age would have passed the 23 year mark required to be in the Black Meteors but he is making a mistake, nobody should take him serious.

“Why didn’t he protest, because he wasn’t sure, I think he was just trying to be loud,” Jabir said.

Andoh happens to be the one who scored the lone goal against the Red Devils.

He was actually part of Le Roy's squad to Niger for the 2008 Chan qualifier, but was then considered as a rising football star in the country.

The two sides will meet again in a fortnight for the return leg of the 2016 Olympic Games qualifier.
