Hangzou, China, Sept 19, GNA - Players of Ghana's Black Queens have hit the malls in the beautiful city of Hangzou in a bid to make last minute shopping spree ahead of their crucial last Group C game with Norway on Thursday.
The Queens as if unaware that they could cause the biggest upset of the tournament with a defeat to the Norwegians even though they are already out of the ongoing FIFA Women's World Cup in China have rather channelled their energies towards shopping.
From wears to handy, electrical to mobile phones, the players have even defied threats of showers just to fulfil their mission of purchasing in sight that fancies them.
Shopping surprisingly started only hours after their 0-4 defeat to Canada right to the eve of the game on Thursday.
Even though almost the entire team broke down uncontrollably after the defeat they now seem to have found their voices less than an hour later to commence their shopping.
It took the Queens who stayed off the Norway-Australia game after their defeat to Canada hours to learn that the duo drew one all but they do not seem to realize yet that beating the Scandinavians in tomorrow's duel could deny the Norway the opportunity of advancing to the round of eight and is thus grabbing the attention of supporters of the globular leather.
Most of the players skipped breakfast on Wednesday, as they opted to go shopping that saw most of them returning to their plush Radission Plaza Hotel well after lunch.
Some of the members of the technical team joined in the shopping. The Queens were originally billed against the Norwegians in typhoon Wipha hit Shanghai.
