RTU Falls To FC Tanga

Real Tamale United fell to Bolgatanga - based F.C Tanga in match day thirteen Division One League encounter at the Bolgatanga Sports Stadium.

The match which started with all sense of urgency saw both sides swinging accurate passes and defending resolutely.

The first department of the match did not see much goal scoring chances, but the few which came the way of both teams were squandered, ending the first department of the match barren.

The second half of the match saw three changes in the F.C Tanga setup as midfielder Frank Amoto was replaced with Abula Francis on the 43rd minute, while defender Solomon Abugri, was replaced with an attacker, George Akampeke in the 46th minutes who brought some life into the game. On the 85th minute, lead striker Kenneth Mbah who had become a target for rough tackles, was replaced with Striker, Frimpong Enock, who nearly scored a third goal for F.C Tanga.

Both teams played magnificently well, swinging accurate passes and creating great chances which could not be converted into goals.

In one of F.C Tanga's attacks in the 55th minute, Kenneth Mbah was brought down by the goalkeeper of RTU which resulted in a penalty kick that was converted by himself, to give F.C Tanga the needed lead in the match.

The match continued with the away team mounting pressure from all angles to get an equalizer, but all their attempts proved futile as F.C Tanga's defense defended their goal area from all threats.

F.C Tanga in the 70th minute had the chance to double their lead when George Akampeke came face to face with the keeper of RTU but placed the ball into his waiting arms.

After minutes of ding-dong battle between both teams, F.C Tanga was handed her second goal on the day when Solomon Asakiya's sublimed kick, beat the RTU goalie.

The match ended with F.C Tanga beating Real Tamale United by 2 goals. With this performance F.C Tanga has 25 points and +10goals.
