Former premiership campaigners, RTU, risk losing three points and three goals from their accumulated points in the ongoing Division One League, ghanasportsonline can exclusively reveal.
The pride of the North who are billed to face Bazooka FC of Wa this Saturday have been unable to assemble players because the players would not respond for non-payment of their salaries and bonuses for close to a year.
“We are unable to raise a team for this weekend’s game against Bazooka and we risk losing the points at stake and our position on the league log.
“Currently we are leading the league table but it’s rather unfortunate that the players have decided not to turn up for the match. It is not their fault though because we owe them so much,” Mohammed Hashmin, Communication Director of RTU, exclusively told Ghanasportsonline.
Asked as to whether the Board Chairman of the club, Ibrahim Adam, has made any effort at turning the financial fortunes of the club around, Hashmin said, “Despite persistent appeals he has not been forthcoming. So far it is only Abu Jones, the board secretary and the supporters who have been helping but the help is simply not enough,” Hashmin disclosed.
