RTU surprise Kotoko with a shock win

Cape Coast, Feb. 25, GNA - Real Tamale United (RTU) surprised Kumasi Asante Kotoko when they beat them 1-0 in their GT Onetouch Premier League match played at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium at Cape Coast on Sunday. Right from the referees whistle, The Pride of the North marched Kotoko squarely as they met 91Porcupine Warriors boot for boot to end the first half goalless.

Kotoko resumed the second half strongly and earned a spot-kick in the 50th minute but Emmanuel Osei Kuffuor failed to score as his kick hit the side posts to the relief of the visitors.

The game from then became a ding-dong affair and when everything seemed to be pointing to a draw, RTU exploited a defensive blunder to score the only goal of the match in the 87th minute through Sulemana Faizer to send the players and officials of RTU into a jubilant mood.

At the Dansoman Carl Rheindorf Park, Accra Great Olympics managed a hard fought 1-0 win over homesters Liberty Professionals in their Onetouch Premier League match on Sunday.

Olympics scored the only goal of the match in the 35th minute of the game and held on to their lead till the end of proceedings.
