Accra, July 13, GNA – The race for seats unto the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has moved into another gear, as candidates jostle for votes across the delegates.
The election of members to the Executive Committee fixed for Wednesday, July 20, at the premises of the GFA, will see 11 candidates contesting for six slots meant for the Premier League Clubs.
With Samuel Oduro-Nyarko pulling out of the race, it is left with the likes of Kudjoe Fianoo, Emmanuel Kyeremeh, Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah, John Frederick Mensah, Randy Abbey, and Fred Crentsil.
The rest are Felix Amoah Ansong, Desmond Frimpong-Manso, Moses Armah, Jones Alhassan-Abu and Kofi Manu who are seeking the six slots to represent the Clubs.
Information gathered by the GNA Sports reveals that the battle for the Division One League, which has been fixed for Thursday, July 21 at the same venue will have Nimo Peter Kwasi, Mac Paradise Okocha, George Kwasi Afriyie, Fred Pappoe, Oloboi Commodore, Hayford Cudjoe, Nana Adjei Ampofo, Kweku Eyiah, Wilfred Kwaku Osei, Ronald Jojo Duncan, Kingsley Osei Bonsu and Delali Senaye.
Four representatives are expected to be selected out of the 12 candidates for the division’s slot onto the Executive Committee.
The Premier League Clubs will have six seats on the Executive Committee with the Division One Clubs, having four slots, whilst the Regional Associations will have their Chairmen making up a list of 20.
In addition to the numbers, Constituent bodies made up of the Security Services Sports Associations (SESSA), Ghana University Sports Associations (GUSA) and the Women’s League Board will have one representative each, to complete the 22-member Executive Committee of the GFA.
