Ghana international Razak Abalora has shared his excitement after helping CS Petrocub to win the Moldovan league title for the time in history.
Petrocub were crowned champions of the Moldovan Super Liga on Saturday after playing out a 1-1 draw with Milsami.
With just one game remaining, Petrocub has clinched the title as a result will not have any effect on the league standings.
CS Petrocub's goal was scored by Dan Pușcaș in the 59th minute, after Radu Gînsari had given Milsami the lead in the 52nd minute.
Abalora, who joined the Petrocub before the start of the season lasted the entire duration as his side snatch a point to win the league title.
His compatriot, David Abagna also lasted the entire duration of the match, while Seidu Basit watched from the bench.
“FIRST LEAGUE 🏆 IN CLUB HISTORY. WE ARE CHAMPIONS 2024” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The league triumph also marks a significant milestone for Ghanaian football administrator Nana Yaw Amponsah, who previously served as CEO of Asante Kotoko and is now the President of CS Petrocub. This is his first title win in his new role.
The Ghanaian contingent at CS Petrocub will have another chance to add to their trophy cabinet, as they will face Zimbru in the Moldovan Cup final on May 25th.
The team's final league game of the season will be a home clash against Zimbru on May 18th.
