Ghana goalkeeper Razak Brimah will undergo surgery on Friday to fix a broken jaw, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 27-year-old has to go under the knife after tests revealed his injury – sustained while on international duty with the Black Stars – is more serious than initially gathered.

Brimah picked up the injury while training with the Black Stars in the lead up to their second 2015 AFCON qualifier against Togo.

Tests then revealed that he had incur no serious injuries and that only a one of his molars was lost.

The mild injury then kept him out of Ghana’s win over Togo as he complained of pains in his gum.

The CD Mirandes goalkeeper even played on his return to his club but was made to wear a protective mask.

Brimah will be operated on Friday after and is expected to be out for three weeks – meaning he might be available for Ghana when they face Guinea next month in the 2015 AFCON qualifiers.
