Social media has been buzzing with wild reactions after the Ministry of Youth and Sports released a video of the renovated Accra Sports Stadium, featuring Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale’s song titled ‘Dem Confuse’ in the background.
Some social media users mocked the ministry for using such a song to respond to criticisms regarding their work after failing to rehabilitate national facilities to meet international standards.
Others also slammed the sports ministry for not being proactive, having waited for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to ban the Baba Yara Stadium from hosting Black Stars matches before undertaking the renovation.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, has been to the Accra Sports Stadium inspecting the facility following recent rehabilitation works.
The washrooms were furnished with new items, while the dressing rooms also had new wardrobes and seats for the players to use during the game. Most of the items in the stadium seem to be brand new and well-furnished.
This comes after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) approved the Accra Sports Stadium to host Ghana's 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan.
According to a Ghana Football Association Executive Council member, Dr. Randy Abbey, CAF has given Ghana conditional approval after some key areas of the facility were improved.
Dr. Abbey emphasized that the approval is only for the Sudan game and that a reinspection will take place after the match to assess the stadium for the next home game.

Shameless government.
As if we didn't see the embarrassments that led to this palliative. Indeed, I call it palliative. Not a solution.

They ministry of sports shouldn’t think Ghanaians hate them we all wants the best for this country, so if something does not sits right and the citizenry complain they should be open for suggestions that will bring glory to the nation.
