Levante attacker Emmanuel Boateng hopes his side can replicate Saturday’s performance against Real Madrid when they face Valencia in La Liga local derby on Sunday.

The Frogs are in high spirits as they came twice from behind to force a 2-2 draw with a Cristiano Ronaldo-led Los Blancos at Estadio Ciudad de Valencia.

And coming up against their city rivals, the Ghanaian, who scored in the fixture, is hoping for a similar level of performance from his teammates.

“Against Valencia, it’s really going to be a tough game because it’s a derby game,” Boateng said in a video interview released by his club.

“For what we did against Real Madrid, if we play the same game or we play more than that, I think we’ll win.

“And I believe we can win against Valencia because with the determination [with which] we played against Real Madrid, I think we can win against Valencia.”

Currently positioned one place above the relegation zone on the league table, Levante unarguably sit in a precarious situation.

Juan Muniz’s outfit faces a rather quick return to the second tier, having only gained topflight promotion last season.

“I believe we’ll stay in first division because I never put my head down, I always look up,” said, Boateng, who joined the La Liga outfit from Portuguese side Moreirense last August.

“As a player, you always need to think positive. I believe in my teammates, what we can do because of how we train, our determination and how we do everything together as a family.

“I believe with this, we can maintain [our position] in the first league.”

From Ghana, Boateng initially signed for Portuguese club Rio Ave in 2013, before joining Moreirense in 2015.

Yet to be capped by Ghana at senior level, the attacker was a member of the Black Satellites side at the 2015 Fifa Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
