Real Sportive pip Arsenals

Tema, Oct 23, GNA - Berekum Arsenal's chances of playing in the Top Four was jolted when they were beaten 1-0 by Real Sportive in their GT Premier League match at the Tema Sports stadium on Sunday. The uncompromising match started on a fast note with Sportive making several incursions into their opponents' vital area but they failed to find the net as their anxious attackers fumbled in front of goal. Arsenal gradually warmed themselves into the game and managed to repulse the attack by counter-attacking but also failing to find the net with Osei Kofi's long range shot expertly saved by Sportive's keeper Laud Quartey.

The game from then on became a ding dong affair with both sides squandering scoring chances till the end of the first half. The second session with the two teams matching each other in attack but as the game was getting exciting with no score, Sportive raised their performance and managed score in the 55th minute through goal-poacher Mark Adu Amofa that turned out to be the only goal of the match.

Arsenal got a golden opportunity to score the equalizer in the 87th minute after incessant pressure on Sportive but substitute Francis Aggrey in front of goal messed up the opportunity. Osei Kofi of Arsenal was adjudged the best player of the match.
